AN HONEST REVIEW - KENZZI

Updated: Apr 22, 2022

Let me tell you a quick story about my experience with laser hair removal. A couple of years ago I had 10 laser session treatments in a clinic over a period of 10 months. I’ve always had a lot of body hair and once I started the treatment I immediately noticed a HUGE difference.

It took more time for my hair to grow and I didn’t have allergies using razors anymore. For me, the process wasn’t painful at all and it was totally worth the money.

After those sessions, I stopped the treatment and went one year without laser treatment. During this period, I had much less hair growth and was using razors only a couple of days a week.

Last March, a year and a half after stopping the treatment, I started noticing that I was using razors almost every day. My hair was growing faster again. After researching clinics and home devices, I decided to go with Kenzzi because I read very good reviews.

Kenzzi is an IPL device, which stands for Intense Pulsed Light.

I bought mine from their website and after it arrived a week later I started using it right away.

How I use it

They recommend that you use the device once a week for 12 weeks and after this period, once a month for 3 months (or until you’re satisfied).

So one time a week I shave my legs and dry my skin very well and then use it. It’s super easy…just plug it in and you’re ready to use it.

The device has 5 levels of intensity – 1 being the lowest level and 5 being the highest and strongest. I started using level 3 for two weeks and after getting accustomed to the intensity level am now I’ve been using level 5.

Once you start using it, you are not supposed to do anything that removes the root of the hair (i.e. waxing) as the root is what absorbs the light during the treatment.

Does it hurt?

It can vary from person to person, but for me, it doesn’t hurt. The area you’re applying can get really hot and sometimes you can feel a slight hot/burn sensation, but nothing you can’t deal with (in my opinion!). Your skin can get a little sensitive during and immediately following the process, so it’s always good to apply a gentle lotion to calm the area.

Be careful not to use the device in the same area too often in a short period of time to avoid burning your skin.

When did I start to see results?

I started noticing a change in my hair growth after 2 months of weekly use (I’ve never skipped a week). I saw slower hair growth and in addition a lesser quantity. I’m now entering my 12th week and will transition to using it once a month just for maintenance.

Is it worth it?

So, my honest opinion is: If you are looking for fast results, go with the clinic treatment because it is faster. The home device is less powerful, therefore, the process is slower.

If you’re not in a hurry for results and want to save money, I’d highly recommend Kenzzi. I love the convenience of having my treatment at home and to be able to use any time and day that I want.
